Guidelines

The DGG is a member of the AWMF (Association of Scientific Medical Societies) and participates in the development and updating of guidelines. The DGG takes the lead in guidelines that are particularly important in the field of vascular surgery.

Guidelines provide doctors, patients and all other parties involved in medical care with guidance and decision-making and action aids for prevention, diagnosis, therapy, rehabilitation and care structures. Guidelines are developed in a systematic and transparent development process. This process is based on the guidelines of the AWMF. Quality is assessed using the DELPHI and AGREE methods. The DGG's Guidelines Commission coordinates the activities of its members and oversees the development, publication and implementation of the guidelines. In agreement with the Executive Board, it commissions a DGG working group or a group of experts to develop a guideline.
