Vascular Day
Every year on 16 November, the DGG organises a nationwide "Vascular Day" event, which focuses on a specific topic related to vascular medicine.
The motto for Vascular Day 2026 is: "Aortic diseases – early detection, targeted treatment."
This event is dedicated to the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of vascular diseases and is aimed at patients, their families and anyone interested in the topic.
Learn more about the latest examination and treatment options in the field of vascular medicine. Vascular specialists will be available at participating clinics to provide you with in-depth insights. Take advantage of this opportunity to talk directly to experts and obtain first-hand medical information.
Clinics wishing to participate in Vascular Day 2026 can register at any time by emailing sekretariat(at)gefaesschirurgie.de. They will be featured on the DGG website.

Reports on Vascular Day 2023
The Agaplesion Diakonieklinikum Rotenburg also took part in the nationwide DGG Vascular Day and reports the following:
Our Department of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Surgery and the ICW Wound Centre organised an action day on the topic of circulatory disorders at our hospital on 9 November 2023.
The action day was used as an opportunity to provide comprehensive information about the causes, diagnosis and treatment of PAD. A team from our Clinic for Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Surgery, led by Chief Physician Dr Feldmann, then answered all the questions that arose.
The practical part was not neglected either: under the guidance of a physiotherapist and wound expert from the Wound Centre, a demonstration of walking distance and walking training took place. All interested parties were able to take away information material or read brochures on display to learn more about vascular diseases.
