René van Dongen Travel Grant

Every year, the DGG awards the René van Dongen Travel Grant. The grant is worth €4,000 and is presented at the annual conference.

The aim is to deepen practical, theoretical and scientific knowledge in the field of vascular surgery. The grant supports a placement at a hospital, teaching practice or research institution abroad. The scholarship must be taken up by the end of the following year at the latest and concluded with a written report. €3,000 will be paid upon presentation of the observation contract, and €1,000 upon completion of the observation period and submission of the report.

The application must include the following:

• Letter of motivation
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Letter of recommendation from the supervisor
• Project description

Criteria for awarding the scholarship:

• Age < 32
• Completed university degree
• Currently undergoing further training to become a specialist in vascular surgery (no managerial role)
• Membership of the DGG e.V.
