Jörg Vollmar Award

Since 2010, the Jörg Vollmar Foundation has awarded the Jörg Vollmar Prize, worth €5,000, to young scientists in memory of Prof. Jörg Friedrich Vollmar (1923–2008).

The award is given for innovative research in the field of vascular surgery and vascular medicine, as well as for outstanding medical history research on the history and theory of surgical disciplines. Interested parties should send their applications to the DGG office.  

The Jörg Vollmar Award will be awarded during the DGG's annual conference.

The specific requirements for the Jörg Vollmar Prize are:

-Completion of a dissertation
-Curriculum vitae
-Bibliography of the applicant
-Publication of the scientific work or proof of acceptance in a peer-reviewed journal
-First author
-The publication must not be more than one year old at the time of submission

Please also note the general rules of the DGG for the awarding of prizes and scholarships.

The applications received will be reviewed by the DGG and the prize winner will be selected in consultation with the board of the Jörg Vollmar Foundation.
